From Versailles, Indiana, I grew up a very“active” child. I was a track & field athlete in high
school and graduated in 2002. I remained active when I joined the Army, went to college,
went to two wars, went back to college, raced bicycles, started a family, earned degrees and certifications, coached thousands of people, and co-founded The Arsenal with Brian J. McKay.
My passion came through when studying exercise through science in 2007 as more of a
personal interest rather than an intended career path. I used my knowledge to train a small
group of soldiers to prepare for their physical fitness test. Early success led to winning Solider of the Year honors and training soldiers for the upcoming year’s competition. These soldiers accomplished several competitive victories and heroic missions. This training made me realize my love for coaching.
My overall goal is to improve and expand the functional fitness community and help as many people as possible develop as athletes and as community members. I plan to send Muncie Cross Fit athletes to the Cross Fit Central East Regional to compete for the chance to win the Cross Fit Games and become the Fittest on Earth!
